Sean Arian is founder and Chief Strategist of Eos Consulting, helping clients pursue market-driven solutions to tough environmental problems. He is currently serving as an advisor to the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power on clean tech and economic development matters and as Senior Advisor on Green Economy Initiatives to the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. From 2007 to 2010 Sean was the Director of Economic Development for the Mayor of Los Angeles, and was responsible for driving the City’s green economy strategy, including the Clean Trucks Program and the Cleantech LA partnership. Prior to joining the Mayor’s Office, Sean worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, a global management consulting firm. He is a past Executive Director of the Harry Bridges Institute and Director of International Relations for the International Longshore & Warehouse Union. He also serves on the board of the California League of Conservation Voters Educational Fund and the advisory boards of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy and Opportunity Green.

The Clean Tech Corridor: This is the cornerstone of the Mayor’s vision to put Los Angeles at the forefront of the clean tech revolution and to transform the old downtown industrial core into an incubator for green jobs, technology and the growth of LA’s economy.
Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator: LACI is a hub of the Los Angeles cleantech community—it helps entrepreneurs and cleantech businesses accelerate the commercialization of their technologies .Sean helped launch the Incubator and Eos continues to play an advisory role.
Cleantech Los Angeles: Sean was a founder and served as the first Chair of the Cleantech Los Angeles partnership between local government, business organizations and local research universities such as Caltech, UCLA and USC.
Janice Hahn:Eos worked with Rep. Janice Hahn to develop the green jobs strategy she took to Washington DC. It was a cornerstone of her campaign. Rep. Hahn mailed this plan to voters in her coastal Los Angeles district, and it has provided a blueprint for her legislative agenda. Green Jobs Plan PDF
Port of Los Angeles Clean Truck Program: Sean worked with LA Mayor Villaraigosa to develop and drive the implementation of the landmark Clean Trucks Program that reduced diesel pollution by over 80% in less than five years.
As Director of Economic Development for Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Sean delivered the keynote address at Drum Major Institute’s Marketplace of Ideas event “Improving the Air and Job Quality at Our Nation’s Ports” on October 14, 2008 at The Harvard Club in New York City.
